The Boundary Rider's Report June 2020

Welcome to the June 2020 Boundary Rider’s Report

We hope you and your family are safe and well.

Snapshot
Bald Blair Angus is located East of Guyra on the Northern Tablelands of NSW.
We have an elevation of between 1280 and 1420m above sea level.
Area: approx 2000 ha over 4 properties.
Enterprises: Angus Stud, commercial Angus herd, crossbred and merino sheep, farm stay and farm tours.

Seasonal Snapshot
Rainfall: Our average rainfall is between 750-1000mm.
Rainfall for the year to date at Bald Blair approx 530mm; approx 20 mm of rain in June. Upon reflection of the prior year, it is amazing our water table is full, springs open, dams full and our creek is flowing, and has done for some months now.

Bald Blair Angus Bulls
Bull Sale:
Our Bull Sale is fast approaching, this year we will be offering 70 rising two year old bulls . Our goal is to breed quality value bulls that are structurally sound, have proven pedigrees ( Parent Verified or Sire Verified ), have genomically enhanced EBV’s, get your cows in calf, are easy to handle and are backed by expert advice and support.

Our bulls are independently structurally assessed and pass the BullCheck test, semen morphology and motility conducted by our local vet. They have up to date animal health treatments including drenches, pesti, vibrio, lepto & tick vac.

If you are unable to attend the Bull Sale, it will be interfaced with AuctionsPlus , so you can participate online. Please ensure you are registered with AuctionsPlus and are familiar with how the platform works. Alternatively if you would like to bid through your agent this is also an option.

Please contact Elders Agents, Paul Harris 0428 600 510, Wayne Jenkyn 0428 293 556, Mark Atkin 0455 310 657 or Brian Kennedy 0427 844 047.

Inspections of the bull sale team are welcome by appointment at any time prior to the sale. Our Open Day will be held on Sunday, 2nd August from 10am until 2pm . The bull sale team will be in the cattle yards for paint branding and available for you to inspect them. COVID 19 health protocols are now part of the new normal, namely social distancing, and personal hygiene (hand sanitisers will be available).

The Bald Blair Angus catalogue is now available online. Please go to our website www.baldblairangus.com.au and follow the link. This is a great way to do some research before the sale. Our printed catalogue will be off to the printer Monday 29th June, so physical catalogues will be available very soon. If you are unable to visit Bald Blair personally to inspect the bull sale team, I am available by phone or happy to do a video call on zoom to go through with you personally our bull sale catalogue and discuss possible bulls that would fit your breeding program.
